Coach Profile

I believe the goal of coaching is to gain self-knowledge in order to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. By knowing your desires, values and beliefs, you can choose the path of being true to self. I find it especially rewarding to work with those in positions to help others. That is why I am drawn to working with physicians, especially those who find themselves in a difficult spot or at a crossroad. My hope is the coaching process brings forth self renewal and your best self, thereby facilitating continued work that serves a purpose greater than ourselves.

My passion, caring  and empathy are critical parts of the coaching experience. I believe that my passion for personal growth and development serves as inspiration for my clients. The connection and energy between my clients and me is one of the best facilitators of growth. I feel blessed to be given the opportunity to coach. It is extremely rewarding work and an honor and a privilege.

Professional Credentials/Information:

I offer an extensive background in Human Development and Family Relationships expanding over 30 years. My work in teaching and research, program development and statewide program management has led me to the work, which I feel is my true calling, coaching.

  • Certified by the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara

  • Graduate of the Authentic Happiness Coaching Program

  • Member of the International Coaching Federation, ICF

  • Member of ICF’s Ethics and Standards Committee

  • On going courses through International Coaching Federation

  • Founding member of Professional Coaches Association of Michigan

Coaching Approach:

I believe ‘all are teachers, and all are learners.’ Therefore roles shift throughout the coaching process. There are times to teach and there are times to learn. I believe the client is my greatest teacher of who the client is, what they deeply desire, and what they are ready to move toward. I see coaching as an art, as a sculptor might, to see the beautiful and potential form inside the stone and to bring forth the self the client desires to be.

The coaching process is blissful, yet challenging. As the client becomes more self aware, it can be sweet to embrace one’s strengths and gifts, yet at the same time difficult to acknowledge those things which hold us back or keep us from being our best selves. My role as the coach is not only as a facilitator of self-knowledge but also a source of support and an avenue to other resources. Depending on the client’s needs, dynamics, and desires, content and focus shifts throughout coaching.

I believe my role as a coach is to find balance between having a more direct, active lead and having a more facilitative and observer role.  As clients engage in the process, they begin to ask questions, seek answers, and by pulling back I allow their self awareness and problem solving abilities to take charge. When the balance between the roles is achieved, I feel my goal as a coach is met.
